45 degrees this morning 45:12 minute walk three earthquakes (Earthquake app started working again for earthquakes in the 2.5 to 4 magnitude again. I got a very snippy response to my e-mail on this, customer service is definitely not their priority)
Looking at my “Books Read” book, it may be time for a change. I got the original book I used to write in the books I read for Christmas of 1988 and started keeping books I had read in it since January 1 of 1989.
If I am counting right, that is 25 years and it may be time to retire the book and get another one for the next 25 years!
On the other hand, it works….. I finished a book on January 18, and I noted I had completely filled the space for this day. Apparently I like finishing books on January 18!
I am going to try to transfer the notations of the books I read (authors, title and year read-the book is a undated calendar, if that makes any sense) to a computer program.
Probably the best way to do that is to transfer it on the day I noted the book I had read. However, January is already about 2/3 over so I am already behind!
I’m been thinking about what type of book I want to keep my “books read” record in. The undated calendar worked well, but they are hard to find. If it use just a hardbound journal, I will have a hard time retrieving the date etc.
It will be interesting to see how many books I have read in the last 25 years! When I go through and look at them, I can see patterns throughout the years.
I had my periods of history (which I still do), self-help books (not so much anymore), fiction (it ebbs and flows, and then my interest since 1999 in Lincoln, mountain climbing and bike riding among other things.
I have been reading a lot more history in the past 15 years, probably because I recognize the significance of history and also want to find out what I missed!
Time is always a factor and I can see when I felt like fiction wasn’t the best use of my time although that isn’t necessarily always true.
I have been very aware of the limitations of the time we all have for years (probably since college), so priorities are always a priority so to speak.
Perfect day today. about 70 degrees, sunny and no wind!
I’m sure there is plenty of cold weather left before Spring. Actually it seems that cold weather hangs around in one form or another until mid May, when it suddenly warms fro good.
Finally figured out how to easily download my digital books etc., AND set up my Bluetooth in my car so I can play my ipod/iphone through the car speakers without any problems.
Sometimes it helps to read the manuals, but sometimes the manuals just aren’t that good.
Back to work tomorrow after a three day weekend. I enjoyed my three day weekend, but am also glad to get back to work.
When I get another account, it is kind of like a little Christmas present, and I get a thrill out of opening it up and seeing what the situation is and figuring out my approach to resolving the issue.
That’s it for now, Tuesday, January 20, 2015.
