35 degrees this morning, 57:00 minute walk, nine earthquakes
The first month of 2015 is already half over (well, almost half over, tomorrow it will be over half over).
As always, time seems to go so fast.
Wrote a somewhat late (ok, a very late) Christmas letter to a long-time friend and it bought back memories of the past year and how everything happens.
Somehow, so much happened last year, it seems like it was more than a year! The fantastic trip to China, the move, and then my new job.
Aliene said something the other day that struck me as a real truth, when she said something to the effect that “ the persons who are really hurt are the ones left behind”. While she was referring to a specific situation, it can certainly apply in a lot of situations.
That quote is one of those quotes that I will think about, write about, study and maybe use it in some way. it certainly describes a lot of situations.
That is one thing I really enjoy about this journal, especially when I get a response.
A lot of times, I work through something just by writing about it, but I really get hit with a “lightning bolt” of knowledge when I get a comment with a side I hadn’t thought of before, or someone makes a comment about an observation.
I think that way about work and life in general. I like to get feedback at work or anything I do in life, since I really don’t know how someone feels unless they tell me!
I am starting to lose my “holiday weight gain”, thank goodness. I didn’t gain all that much, but that is the way it starts!
Gas is as low as $1.46 per gallon here. I am staying loyal to 7-11,so I am paying $1.54 right now.
7-11 is one of the only stations that didn’t play a game in this area where they low balled consumers with a low price for the 10% mix, and then other gas was up to a $1.00 per gallon more. It was a racket. Not illegal since they can charge whatever they want, but gas stations other than 7-11 were certainly misleading. I don’t even bother to check to see if other stations are still doing it.
I am really enjoying the book I am listening to on my morning walk. At times, I want to keep on listening, but of course I don’t. I have reached a really interesting place now. (Some I always reach an interesting part just as it is time to stop listening for the day
While I enjoy listening to a book, music or whatever, I can enjoy my walk and bicycle ride anyway, and also swimming.
However, for some reason, I can’t stand to be on a stationary bicycle or a treadmill without a book or a movie to watch, preferably a book.
That’s it for now, Thursday, January 15, 2015.
