Winter 2015 January 16 Friday

29 degrees this morning 45:22 Minutes walking Nine Earthquakes

It’s Friday!  Three day weekend, which will be nice.

Snow (although light) has been forecast since last weekend, now 60+ degree weather is forecast.  It is time for a break from the cold weather!

My morning walk has gotten exciting as I am listening to some exciting parts of the book.  The story is not up to around 1943. I assume the author attempts to involve his characters in all of the major events of the century.

Work remains interesting  I am becoming “known”, which makes it even more interesting and encourages me to learn more so I can answer questions quicker and in a more comprehensive manner. Once I think I know something, an exception pops up!  I guess that is normal!

My scheduled of two or three days in the office and two or three days “in the field” is good because it includes a day of research etc.  with days “in the field”, so it really provides a lot of variety.

Looking back, i am amazed at what I have learned in the past five months.

Soon (or at least sooner than we expect), we will need to deicide if we are going to stay in this house another year ore not.  If they raise the rent much more than a nominal amount.

We generally like the layout and location of the house, although we wouldn’t locate here again, since we want to live in a city that cares more about their residents (at least since we live within two miles of such a city, so it won’t be a major problem if we move).

Of course, I can always try to make it better here, which is one thing I always argued, but big money and “business is priority over residents”  is hard to fight.

What it so bad, it doesn’t have to be that way.  The city we live next to has strict standards for business and they get a lot of high quality business anyway since the emphasis on quality in living brings in residents, which brings in business.

I really do hate moving, even short distances.  In fact, I think can be worse moving a small distance.

I am starting again on “weeding” out items that fail the “toothbrush test”.  I have a number of clothes I haven’t worn and probably won’t wear, so I am going to donate them and use the space!

I hope to go to the local Museum of Art  this weekend.  Not only to go since I think it is a fantastic facility, but also to see an exhibit by Chinese artists, specifically young Chinese artists.

I decided to join since it is relatively inexpensive and I enjoy something much more when I can go for several hours and not feel like I need to commit an entire day to something because I bought a ticket for just one day.

Plus I feel like I am supporting something it is important to support, even if in a small way

That’s it for now, Friday, January 16, 2015.
