72 degrees this morning, 88 % humidity 

Rain most of day yesterday especially late afternoon, evening.  

Unfortunately we got caught in the rain yesterday and had to wait for a ride in the rain.  A stranger gave Aliene a plastic poncho to put on, showing that there are good and caring people everywhere!  Fortunately while it was a steady rain, it wasn’t a really hard rain.  

The alarm system went off here (in the hotel) at 3:15 a.m. this morning.  We never did hear the reason, and relaxed after we saw people coming back inside.  With all of the things that can happen I am surprised they didn’t have some way of communicating what was going on. 

We are on the 9th floor, so we weren’t looking forward to walking down 9 flights of stairs, although the elevators kept running.  

One time we walked down 23 flights of stairs due to a hotel false alarm.  Not any fun even then, but we were also about 16 years younger, if I remember correctly!  We could have done it this time, but we weren’t going to unless it was a real emergency!

One time, I was on the 25th floor of the hotel.  I put some toast in the toaster and it started smoking and set off the fire alarm.  I didn’t even think of walking down 25 flights of stairs, I just slunk to my room in embarrassment!  (it wasn’t my fault, but still embarrassing!) (The alarm was short, since the kitchen staff knew why the alarm had gone off.)  

I didn’t eat any toast in a hotel for a long time after that!  

Saw a fiddle player yesterday. She was really good, but the lead singer didn’t let her go and perform a solo part or anything like she deserved.  

Finished the 5th season of “Bosch” last night.  Their won’t be any more for a long time, even if there is another season.  (I hadn’t heard and the ending was very inconclusive.)  

I normally don’t “binge” watch anything, in fact normally the only time I watched Bosch or “Blacklist” etc. is 30 minutes or so 3 x a week and whenever we go to Starbucks for an hour or so.  I watched it since I am on vacation and I thought it would be fun to just watch it. 

It feels a little like overeating, I really enjoyed it, but it was over too fast.  I was surprised there  was only 10 episodes in this season (normally there are 14-16 episodes to a season.)

Supposed to be more rain today, and maybe tomorrow.  To say we are so tired of rain is an understatement.  I know once it stops, there probably won’t be any rain for a long time!
