63 degrees this morning, no walk.
Almost ready to start my walk again, maybe tomorrow morning, depending on how my coughing is. The weather has been “nice”, it just has been windy and has “that chill” in the air that makes it unpleasant.
The weather this morning even posted a “Wind advisory” for this area! Since the wind affects my cough as much as anything, that is not good news!
Generally the Doctors say the coughing going around lasts about 18 days which is a lot more than the “common cold” time of seven days!
Actually, I doubt if I will start walking tomorrow morning, and if I don’t, it will probably be Friday morning.
I have found it is normally best to resume walking and other exercise at my regular amount, rather than start a little and then increase it. This is not the longest layoff I have had, but it is definitely one of the longer ones. This seems to happen at least once every year since we moved to this area.
Start of a new week after a quiet weekend. I enjoy the challenges of work, it is always something a little different each day.
Still searching for fiction that maintains my interest and isn’t too junky. For that matter, I have a hard time finding non-fiction that is interesting and keeps my attention.
I’m not sure if I am just bored with the “same old, same old”, or if it is a matter or age, or the change in my work schedule format.
I had always wondered what it would be like to just work 40 hours per week and not being able to work more than 40 hours per week. I had envisioned a lot of free time, but in reality I don’t seem to have all of that much free time as I logically should, considering the hours I used to work and what I work now.
It may be that the hours I work now are much more structured and it used to be that I may have worked a lot more hours, but my actual work time was a lot more unstructured.
Planning to do several things around the house, we especially are looking at making our back patio more useful in the evening. In the Summer, it is great in the morning, but the sun is too much at night to really enjoy the patio, so we are looking at several relatively inexpensive alternatives.
I read an article the other day (actually in a professional management magazine) which rather puzzled me. The author had visited China and was postulating that maybe “perfectionism” was a bad or at least a negative factor.
I agree hat perfectionism can be bad, but her statement that a “bad Great Wall was better than no Great Wall at all” took me by surprise.
I guess it is a matter of how “imperfect” you can accept. Anyway, if someone had been a little more “perfect” when they built this house and constructed a patio roof when it was built, it would have been almost a “perfect” house, seems like it would have been worth it if they had planned a little better.
Another day without meat. I don’t miss it at all yet, but I may be tempted by the corn dogs!
That’s it for now, Monday, March 5, 2018.
