2019 Winter March 10 Sunday

38 degrees this morning, feels like 33 degrees, 68% humidity

Exercise at fitness center yesterday, bicycled for 30 minutes, swim around 10 minutes.  I am still taking it easy since I’m probably not completely over what I had, or at least I still feel weak.

It does feel good to get out and exercise again.

Very high wind yesterday, made an otherwise beautiful day (up to 70 degrees and sunny) very annoying and miserable.

Supposed to rain tonight again, at least it is rain and not snow and ice!

The “Spring forward” caught me this year.  I woke up at my normal time, but then rolled over and got up “late”!  Sometimes that happens.

Although I like the early morning  dawn, I really like the long sunny evenings more.  Here sunset can be as late as 9:00 p.m. at the height of Summer, which is wonderful.

Just heard that “WD 40” is named “WD 40” because they tried to formulate it 39 times and failed and were successful the 40th time, so they called it “WD 40” (Water Displacement 40).

Perhaps that is a prime example of trying and trying again until you are successful!

I always liked WD 40 because it works, I hadn’t heard the story behind the name.

The owner (or current CEO) said that it is a real shame that 65% of people don’t like their jobs.  He noted that 99% of WD-40 people like their jobs!

I have been lucky there, I always have had a job I liked and enjoyed doing.  Doesn’t mean I always liked every minute, but generally I liked going to work and doing the work.

I always liked the story about Kentucky Colonel Fried Chicken and how he lived out of his car and tried to franchise his recipe until he because successful.

Of course, I don’t like the illusion (or delusion) that some salespersons have that if they try hard enough they can sell you anything!  That is definitely not true, at least for me.

Knowing when to stop is also an art, no matter what you are trying to do.  At some point, you need to realize that you are not going to succeed at something and you are better off trying something else!

The problem is knowing when it is better to quit and try something else.  I don’t think anyone has resolved that problem!

Sunday morning already, the weekend is going fast!

That’s it for now, Sunday, March 10, 2019.
