43 degrees this morning. No walk (schedule);
Cool weather continues although it has been relatively nice during the day, if 50 degrees is considered “nice”.
More extreme cold, with wind which makes it considerably worse, is predicted in a few days, predicted to last for a week or so. We will be ready for our “warm weather break” in February. We have always talked about it and we are doing it this year.
I remember years ago, I had a very brief respite of warm weather in either February or early March and it made a huge difference in dealing with the rest of the cold weather.
On my Project Status, I did get started on one project recently, sorting through my digital photos and deleting duplicates, poor quality pictures, pictures that I have no idea what they are etc.
I didn’t complete it by any means, but I did get started on it and am going to try to get into the habit of reviewing about a 1,000 photos each week, which means I should complete it in about 30 weeks.
Then I will start the really hard part of putting the photo’s into digital albums. I have no idea how long that will take but I will just work on it until it is done.
As with many projects, I feel the key to photos is the planning aspect, and I am currently planning how to organize them. I will keep the “calendar” organization, but I also want to organize them into specific albums, such as by place, perhaps by trip or types or trips, people etc.
With the ability to duplicate the photos, the potential is unlimited (perhaps unfortunately).
Anyway I am going to get started on it and make sure I make it a “habit”.
I have learned that it is basically true that it takes 21 days to make a “habit” a true “habit”. I don’t know how that translates into doing something at least weekly, but I’ll find out.
I think a big problem with completing projects, or even working on them, is the problem of perfectionism.
While I don’t think of it as “perfectionism”, I think that is what it is, and a lot of delay in projects is because it isn’t “perfect” (or even close).
The other day I was asked if I was an “expert” in anything. Of course, first you have to define “expert” which I am unable to do. And of course, “expert” may depend what field you are taking about.
Anyway, I avoided responding to the question, because I really don’t know!
That’s it for now, Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
